The City of Lakeland collects garbage on Tuesday mornings (unless otherwise posted on the holiday schedule). Owners may place their cans out by the curb the night before. The city asks that your cans be out by no later than 6:00 am on collection day, and keep your cans three feet away from other cans, vehicles, etc. Please move your vehicles from the garbage collection paths on collection day to ensure enough space for the city trucks.
You will need a letter of permission from one of our Association's Board Of Directors to obtain the larger-sized container because the city charges garbage collection fees based on the size of your container. Contact solidwastemanagment@lakelandgov.net for more information.
If you are missing a can, please contact the city at 863-834-8773. Can lids are bar coded to the address so please do not switch with a neighbor, or borrow a can.
Contact solidwastemanagement@lakelandgov.net for instructions and assistance with disabled collection services.

Yard waste (ie small branches, limbs, and yard clippings) must be no longer than 5 feet and no wider than 5 inches. It must be placed separately from household trash and recyclables. This separation allows 100% of the yard waste collected to be composted and recycled into a commercial compost product supporting Florida farmers. Click here for more information on yard waste requirements including weights, bundles, and bagging.
Please consider donating old clothing, furniture, and appliances to your local charity to reduce landfill usage. Click here for more information and specific requirements for your bulk pick-up needs.
